Drawer, etcher and architect , Piranesi is referred to as the ‘Rembrandt of architecture’.These etchings were taken from the book Ioannis-Baptistae Piranesii antiquariorum regiae-societatis-londinensis socii de Romanorum magnificentia et architectura. Della magnificenza e d’archittetura de Romani opera de-Gio-Battista-Piranesi, socio della reale accademia degli antiquari de Londra, edited in Rome in 1761.
